Town Planning Career | Triathlon
  • 2004 (27 years old) I discovered a love for marathon running & long course triathlon. I thrived from the personal growth opportunities within endurance sport.  It's platform offered invaluable life experience & travel opportunities around Australia & beyond.
  • Joining a local triathlon club (Warringah Triathlon Club, Northern Beaches Sydney) and engaging a personal coach was a significant step towards connecting with like minded community & developing my potential. I was highly self motivated to train independently and periodically within squad environments, around full time work as a Town Planner in Sydney.  Efficient time management and training to a structured & periodized program was fundamental to my routine,  adaptation to training load, recovery, race schedule and season performance.
  • 2009 I qualified for a Professional Licence.   Competing at an elite level amongst the the best athletes on the domestic and international circuit represented the pinnacle of my career in sports performance and life.
Professional Triathlete
  • 2013, following a highly successful racing season, I resigned from my town planning career to pursue professional triathlon on a full time basis.
  • Grant Giles, High Performance Coach, Aeromaxteam.  Gilesy was a significant part to my experience & success from amateur to professional triathlete.   2013 highlights including winning IM Australia followed by top 18 result at the IM World Championships, Kona (9.35).
  • My A-Team. My triathlon career would also not have been possible without the support of allied health & sport professionals based in Sydney, sponsors, friends, family and husband Nigel.
Transition to Family & Professional Coaching
  • 2015 (38 years old), I retired from professional racing to have a family (Jackson 2016 & Phoebe 2019).
  • Full time coach with home/on-line business operation (Racing Heart), around a young family lifestyle Northern Beaches Sydney.
  • Coaching and helping others has felt a natural progression.  It has offered life long friendships & partnerships, supporting athletes of all levels, abilities and lifestyle context discover the best within themselves.  It's a humbling experience to be part of an athlete's journey & the process (the highs, the lows, the learnings) and to help make dreams become a reality, whether it be the goal to finish, or qualification and racing at World Championship level.
  • This career path has also allowed me to build  active relationships with various organisations in areas of sports performance, community coaching and the health & fitness industry as a whole.
